Meet Our Crew
Wayzata Marine Team
Some say Dave Briggs, others say Chuck Norris; really, either way works. Growing up with Wayzata Marine, Dave has dedicated his life to the marine industry. Purchasing the company from his father in 2001, Dave now oversees all company operations and it shows through his daily activities. He generally dabbles in multiple areas, such as speaking with customers in the showroom, engaging with manufactures, maneuvering within the service department, and interviewing. When asked what his favorite thing about the industry is his answer is not surprising. Dave says, “My favorite thing about the industry is meeting people who are new to boating and excited to start building family memories on the water.” His goal for Wayzata Marine is to continue as the number 1 choice for upscale family fun and be always improving the customer experience. When he can, Dave enjoys nothing more than vacationing with his family.
Bob began his career with Wayzata Marine in 2002. In his 10 years as a boating consultant, he has helped countless families into the world of boating; priding himself in making the experience of purchasing a new boat easy, comfortable, and fun. His primary focus is Chaparral, Regal, Four Winns, and Chris Craft Boats; and his first hand experience on the water with his own family makes him the perfect choice to help you into your next or first boat. As Bob's brother Jim says, "Bob doesn't just sell boats, rather he sells time with family, relaxation, and memories that will last a lifetime.”
It was called the "Royal Flush"; a 1970 Skiff Craft Flybridge with Mandarin orange accents and an American Flag fluttering at the rear. It was his favorite past time, boating on Lake Minnetonka with his grandfather. This was Rob's first experience with boats and it has encouraged a career in the boating industry. Rob is the newest member to the Minnetonka Marine family but his experience with boats is far reaching. Additionally, Rob is committed to offering the same memories and experiences he had growing up boating on Lake Minnetonka. Four Winns, Chris Craft and Regal are among the brands Rob is pleased to offer at the Minnetonka Marine store. Much like the storybook memories of Rob's past; owning a new boat can create new family memories for your future.
Carey recently made a professional move out of the auto business and into the boat business, inviting Wayzata Marine as new territory. She has now been with the company since 2011 and is enjoying the industry. As lead management of the service and parts department, Carey is always on the go. Despite her abundant administrative responsibilities, she shows no sign of slowing down. Carey consistently brings top customer service to all of our slip, service, and parts customers.
An alumni of Hennepin Tech and MMI (Orlando campus) Carl now has 11 years in the industry, 8 of which have been with Wayzata Marine. If there is a question, Carl is the answer. Building maintenance, transportation, yard labor, service writing, parts, boat delivery, specialized trouble shooting, and service calls makes Carl one of the most versatile, and valuable, members of our team. Just like the fluctuation of his responsibilities and duties at work, so too do his past-time interests -- although, tinkering is ultimately consistent. Carl is a dedicated family man, who cherishes nothing more than time spent with his wife and kids.
Jeremy Brown (JB)
JB often overseas new boat rigs, used boat rigs, brokerage boats, boat inspections, etc. With 14 years at Wayzata Marine and a total of 20 years in the business, JB is a true pro. Having managed new boat arrivals for so many years, he has come to be known as the best forklift operator alive. However, don’t let Jeremy’s intense dedication to work fool you. He is a diehard MN Wild hockey fan and loves to spend his free time fishing.
He specializes in work pertaining to large cruisers and gel coat work. General maintenance, engine/ steering repair, and inspections is the primary area of concern for Doug. In his free time, Doug enjoys riding motorcycle.
Having been with Wayzata Marine since 2004, Andy’s expertise is far reaching. He is most familiar with dock crew and yard responsibilities, as well as parts/service/and building maintenance. Andy’s many years with the company serves testament to his dedication to the industry. He is busiest during spring launch and fall winterization; nevertheless, the boat season can be just as demanding, says Andy. As a man of many words he always brings a favorable level of comedy to the group.
An 8 year Wayzata Marine veteran, Raul now leads the clean team. Providing close supervision to detail, buffing, bottom cleaning, and waxing projects ensures every customer receives an immaculate product. In addition to his primary responsibilities, Raul also engages with yard labor, to include loading and unloading boats. He is a soccer fan and enjoys hitting the gym in his free time.
Also a huge fan of soccer, Francisco keeps up to speed with all the European and South American leagues. Being that this is his first year on the job, Francisco eagerly performs various detail, buffing, bottom cleaning, and waxing tasks. Periodically, he will provide assistance to yard labor and other miscellaneous responsibilities.
